We were a group of three that did a food tour with Sean in the St Germain area. It was exceptional. Sean took us to 8 locations for samples which were all excellent. We were able to skip lunch due to amount of food we had. Sean had a good knowledge of the area from a historical prospective so the tour was very educational as well as delicious. We have done food tours in other cities which were all good but this was the best. I recommend this tour highly.
A Dream way to explore Culture rich Montmartre and Pigalle !
My husband and I did the Belleville Food Tour during our recent visit to Paris. Our guide Isabel was so friendly and created a very welcoming environment. We began the tour with a visit to a really interesting café where we enjoyed coffee and treats, then we walked to quite a few small food shops where we tasted various local delicacies, and at a bakery we were able to watch the making of baguettes! We finished the tour with a fantastic wine and cheese pairing where we were able to learn about French wines and cheeses. Isabel also walked us through different parts of Belleville including a beautiful park overlooking Paris and streets where we could witness a neighbourhood in transition. This tour opened our eyes to other parts of Paris; Belleville is not one we typically would have explored on our own. We were so happy to have had this experience!
Having lived in Paris for many years, I was thrilled to discover I new neighborhood that I knew nothing about as well as some tastes and foods that were new to me too. This tour is a delightful mix of tasting, culture, Parisian charm, and tourism. I highly recommend this experience for anybody who wants to learn about food and Paris, even if they think they know it all. Our guide was wonderful, telling us all about what we were trying and where we were visiting. Although I knew we would be tasting some things, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that our ‘tasting’ was just about a multi-course lunch with 3 kinds of wine. Whether you know Paris a lot or a little, this is a fun experience for all. Note: if you have never been to Paris and are pressed for time, you might prefer one of their other tasting tours in a more famous district. If you have been to some of the popular neighborhoods or want to discover a new one, this tour is for you!
We had the most amazing experience with the Paris a Dream food tour. If we hadn’t signed up for this tour, we would have never visited the Belleville neighborhood, which was a foodie haven. Our guide was a trained chef and so knowledgeable about the food and the artisans we visited. And we got a special behind-the-scenes look at how baguettes are made (which was my favorite part). It all concluded with a tasting of the beautiful cheeses, pate, ham, baguettes, specialty food items and wine our guide picked up on our walking tour. The tasting ended with the most incredible fig tart that I’m still dreaming about! It was also fun to learn about the history of this unique Paris neighborhood. If you want to avoid tourist traps, learn how Parisians live and eat, and be immersed in the local food culture, this tour is for you!
I’d rush back to Paris tomorrow if I could go on another food tour with Paris a Dream . The tour I experienced last week was in the Belleville neighborhood, which was off the beaten trail and had a cool, hipster vibe. The food shops in this area of Paris (the 19th and 20th districts) featured beautiful pastries, the best baguette ever, lovely local cheeses, olive oil from Provence, and so much more. Our guide was a trained chef, so she knew a lot about French cuisine as well as the rich history of Paris. I learned, laughed, and indulged. The tour ended in a lovely wine shop where we shared tastes from each shop … paired with wine, of course. I highly recommend Paris a Dream, and I’ll certainly be connecting with them again the next time I visit Paris.
