Make your way to the famous Place des Vosges, originally Place Royale, created by King Henri IV. You’ll meet up with your expert French gastronomy guide and embark on a culinary journey through the cosmopolitan, multicultural Marais district. Your tasting will begin in the home of a famous writer, where you’ll be presented with a drink and a pastry. Do you know the history of coffee and how we relate to it today? We’ll tell you all about it. You’ll continue your tour of the neighborhood with a tasting of a sweet treat, interspersed with historical explanations. You’ll pass by mansions, some of which have become the most famous museums in Paris. From the Picasso Museum to the story of the Marquise de Sévigné, the Marais will hold no secrets for you. Did you know that one of the capital’s oldest markets is located in this district ?

Fanny was an excellent and friendly guide. As we walked from place to place, it felt like we were walking with a friend. We tasted jams, olive oils, spreads, cheeses, a little meal of meat and vegetables and desserts! Everything was delicious. We were able to sit and enjoy the little meal with a glass of wine and when we were at a cheese shop, went to the cellar to taste the cheeses and were able to pair it with another glass of wine. At the bakery, we were able to pick from a full size dessert and were able to choose 2 different types of chocolates. These desserts were boxed for us to enjoy at our leisure. Not only did we sample yummy food, but Fanny pointed out some local sights and we had a stroll through Luxembourg Gardens. It was a delicious and great walking tour and I highly recommend trying it.
